Overview

Under the general direction of the Director of Human Resources or Sr. Human Resources Generalists, review job descriptions, post positions, screen resumes and applications, schedule interviews, assist in job fairs, assist in the coordination of new employee orientation sessions and maintain job descriptions. Effectively collaborate with other members of the HR Team, supervisors and staff across all locations. As the first point-of-contact for candidates, serve as a positive ambassador for the PacificSource culture and values.

Responsibilities

  1. Responsible for recruiting life cycle for assigned open positions, from posting to onboarding, ensuring both candidate and hiring manager satisfaction by establishing and exceeding expectations and providing regular communication to all parties involved throughout the hiring process.
  2. Responsible for sourcing candidates, screening resumes, coordinating interview process including scheduling candidates and travel, set up interview guides using Targeted Selection software, interviewing candidates when applicable, conducting reference checks, coordinating background checks, and making job offers to selected candidates.
  3. Recommends new hire salaries and generates job offer recommendations on selected candidates for approval.
  4. Develop and maintain good relationships with hiring managers to ensure job requisitions match requirements and preferred skills, experience, and abilities for each position. Work with the management team to deliver and improve the recruiting strategy. 
  5. Identify recruiting sources and place advertisements in appropriate newspapers, websites, college and university career centers and other applicable online job boards. Create job postings in online recruiting software.
  6. Provide recruiting support to other HR staff and help coordinate recruiting efforts with other HR team members across locations.
  7. Participate in the candidate selection process. Utilize applicable metrics to drive hiring and workforce planning strategies in collaboration with the hiring departments and respective Sr. HR Generalists.
  8. Provide a positive candidate experience, to both internal and external candidates, by providing timely feedback of the progress and next steps in the hiring process. Ensure that all candidates receive feedback on their application.
  9. Coordinate and participate, when applicable, in college and university career fairs, conducting on-campus presentations, and networking with college/university instructor in all locations. Organize coverage of career fairs by alumni and applicable departments.
  10. Presents information on Human Resources recruitment programs and trains appropriate staff in the use of programs such as interviewing and selection.

Supporting Responsibilities:

  1. Assist with New Employee Orientation sessions and assist in providing strong onboarding experience to new employees.
  2. Meet department and company performance and attendance expectations.
  3. Follow the PacificSource privacy policy and HIPAA laws and regulations concerning confidentiality and security of protected health information.
  4. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

 

Work Experience: Requires 3 years of HR generalist experience with emphasis in recruiting and selecting employees.

 

Education, Certificates, Licenses: Requires high school diploma or equivalent.

 

Knowledge: Requires basic math skill, including percentages, ratios and basic statistics, in order to create and analyze reports and to comply with EEO and AA requirements.  Requires excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to read and interpret company policies and procedures; Requires excellent interpersonal skills; ability to work in a team environment; word processing, spreadsheet and data base skills; general knowledge of wage and hour law provisions, both federal and state, wage and benefit surveys; and ability to maintain strict confidentiality with respect to candidates and employee related sensitive issues. Accountable for the recruitment and selection of exempt, nonexempt and hourly positions. Ability to clearly communicate in person and over the phone and is able to request and exchange information in a pleasant, respectful, and professional manner. Requires ability to define and prioritize problems and manage workload without direct supervision.

Environment: Work inside in a general office setting with ergonomically configured equipment. Travel is required approximately 5% of the time.

 

Physical Requirements: Stoop and bend. Sit and/or stand for extended periods of time while performing core job functions.  Repetitive motions to include typing, sorting and filing. Light lifting and carrying of files and business materials. Ability to read and comprehend both written and spoken English. Communicate clearly and effectively. Ability to work in a very faced-paced environment on simultaneous mental tasks.
