  • Overview

    Supports the implementation of PacificSource Major Initiative to advance health equity and the social determinants of health as a core community health strategy.


    1. Assists Director of Wellness and Community Health Strategy and Health Equity and Diversity Strategist in gathering materials and information to support the development of strategies that address the social determinants of health.
    2. Research industry emerging and best practices related to health equity and social determinants of health.
    3. Assist in creation of a tool-kit and other educational materials to support an enterprise wide employee education plan around the topic areas related to social determinants of health.
    4. Support the coalescing of key informant interview data, providing summarization and reports of key themes as requested.



    Supporting Responsibilities:

    1. Meet department and company performance and attendance expectations.
    2. Follow the PacificSource privacy policy and HIPAA laws and regulations concerning confidentiality and security of protected health information.
    3. Perform other duties as assigned.




    Work Experience: Related educational experience in the field of Health Promotion, Health Science or related degree program preferred but not required. Ideal candidate is a master’s level student or recent graduate actively pursuing career in health care, public health, social service or related field.


    Education, Certificates, Licenses: Required to be in a collegiate level public health, social/human sciences or related program from an accredited collegiate institution.


    Knowledge:  Must possess the knowledge and assume responsibility for performing the functions of the job. Must perform and be responsible for the functions in a manner which promotes confidence in the person's abilities. Successful candidate will compile data and information, work directly with the Health Equity and Diversity Strategist/Community Engagement leadership on research and projects that support the successful enterprise –wide development of a strategic framework for addressing social determinants of health.

    Environment: Work inside in a general office setting with ergonomically configured equipment. Travel is required approximately 5% of the time.
