    Write copy for advertising and marketing communications needs. Work with fellow creatives to develop solutions for all health insurance lines of business. Writing projects will include brainstorming, strategy collaboration, and copywriting for print and digital advertising, naming and branding, websites, social media, and collateral. The Senior Copywriter I will be comfortable presenting copy to our Creative Director, the Marcomm team, and our clients. Working in close collaboration with the creative team, actively contribute to the development of original solutions and create polished, final deliverables.

    Responsibilities

    1. Responsible for content creation and working with members of the creative department to deliver effective marketing copy that enhances the end user experience.
    2. Develop health insurance communications to assist in building our brand and helping our members understand their health plan benefits.
    3. Concept and collaborate with team members to ensure the best solutions, including writing copy for ads, direct mail, sales collateral, digital media, and other marketing communications.
    4. Understand customer personas across a number of markets and disciplines.
    5. Research industry trends to identify topics and concepts that appeal to our customers.
    6. Collaborate with the marketing team to understand strategy.
    7. Develop creative concepts and persuasively sell them to internal teams.
    8. Proof and revise projects, prioritizing feedback and revisions.
    9. Make sure work is error-free before publication, insertion, printing, etc.

    Supporting Responsibilities: 

    1. Maintain professional, service-oriented relationships with customers throughout the organization.
    2. Provide guidance to other Marketing Communications staff and company employees related to the communication style guide and written communication in general.
    3. Develop an understanding of regulatory requirements as it relates to writing health insurance marketing.
    4. Meet department and company performance and attendance expectations.
    5. Follow the PacificSource privacy policy and HIPAA laws and regulations concerning confidentiality and security of protected health information.
    6. Perform other duties as assigned.

     

    Qualifications

    Work Experience: At least 3 years advertising, marketing, or communications experience required. Health insurance experience preferred.

     

    Education, Certificates, Licenses: BS or BA required, preferably in English, Marketing, or related field.

     

    Knowledge: Senior-level copywriting for a variety of mediums, creative problem-solving, and organizational skills. Excellent written and verbal communications skills. Capable of breaking down complex concepts and ideas into easy-to-understand messages. Expertise in Microsoft Office; familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite a plus. Must be self-motivated, able to work both independently and as a team member. Ability to follow operational policies and procedures. Ability to balance multiple projects and priorities to meet deadlines. Ability to work across departments at all levels. Accuracy of all information published, printed, or otherwise distributed.

     

    Requirements: You must have a solid portfolio that displays more than a few years’ worth of published advertising, marketing, or communications copywriting.

    Environment: Work inside in a general office setting with ergonomically configured equipment. Travel is required approximately 5% of the time.

     

    Physical Requirements: Stoop and bend. Sit and/or stand for extended periods of time while performing core job functions.  Repetitive motions to include typing, sorting and filing. Light lifting and carrying of files and business materials. Ability to read and comprehend both written and spoken English. Communicate clearly and effectively.
